World Diabetes Day Access To Care

  • Are there diabetes services NOT available in your county?

  • What services & supports do you wish people with diabetes had access to?

  • Do you want to do something to change this in 3 easy steps with our Access to Care selfie (submit your selfie here)?

I know I’ve been harping on about issues in diabetes care for a long time now - well over a decade. So this World Diabetes Day we are doing something a bit more public about it.

The Limerick, Clare, and Nenagh diabetes groups formed the Midwest DiAdvocacy group to campaign for DAFNE, Insulin pumps, and lots more national issues.

We have organised three events in the run-up to World Diabetes Day, Sunday 14th November; Access to Care selfie, Dip for Diabetes, and a WDD meetup.

Access to Care Selfie

The first is a social media campaign called Access to Care that everyone in the diabetes community in Ireland can take part in.

We are asking people to

  1. Take a selfie, with or without a sign of what care you want access to or wish more people had access to

  2. Share it with the hashtags #AccessToCare, #IfNotNowWhen & #IREDOC

  3. Submit your selfie to be included in our video collage here
