It has taken several weeks and guess what? Exercise in the middle of the day was not successful!
In May I wrote a blog post about how incredibly frustrating it is, as an insulin dependent person with diabetes, to exercise without having low blood glucose levels. I was very annoyed. If you dare go there, here's the link.
My plan was to try going for my walk midday rather than after breakfast. And yes, as I predicted, I was always in the middle of something, be it writing more blogs, on a call or worse in a meeting, and couldn’t tear myself away. On the occasions I did tear myself away I would do so at most 3 times a week.
So, I went back to the way it worked before, which is to go after breakfast with high blood sugars and no crashing lows. I’m trying to compensate the increased time above my target range by trying to get in the habit of timing my breakfast pre bolus to take the edge off the highs, but most of the time I don’t remember to do it.
However, on the bright side, since switching back I have managed to do my walk five mornings per week and I’m FI-NALLY started to drop a couple of the covid kilograms. It’s taken about six weeks to get to where I have no post exercise lows and am avoiding this …
